SYNOPSIS

 

The film's protagonist, Eva, is a 25-year-old manager of a grand Venetian hotel. Excelling in her role, Eva navigates the hotel’s palatial enfilades and attends to her guests’ every need with seemingly effortless efficiency. However, behind Eva’s composed exterior lies a troubled soul, haunted by guilt and the trauma of surviving her stillborn twin. For Eva, the hotel is no longer just a workplace but a refuge, where she tries to keep her demons at bay.

When an enigmatic Contessa arrives at the hotel, Eva is instantly drawn to her. Their relationship is intense and manipulative, as both women are ensnared in the labyrinths of their dark pasts and fragile present—unable to love or to feel loved.

Scriptwriter and director Juja Dobrachkous crafts a visually mesmerising and intellectually engaging narrative, posing a question: if even death turns you away, are you finally truly free?
